I recently moved across the country from Indianapolis to Los Angeles, which is no cheap feat. I'm 26 (yep, I fall into the now-infamous millennial generation), and this move required me to spend a lot of money—and a lot of time thinking about how I'd spend my money.
I'm not the first person to move across the country and buy new things. (Maybe in some way, this trip was inspired by my childhood hero, Lucy Ricardo.) But there was something very different about how I settled into my new home now vs. how I would have done it years ago.
